The Red River Community Centre is an 11,270 S.F. facility which includes a gymnasium/main hall, multi-purpose room and a kitchen. A community hub of the Riverbend Area, the facility is used for sporting events, competitions, fundraisers and parties. Structural systems of note include a cast-in-place concrete friction pile foundation and reclaimed lumber columns. Selected from an industrial building marked for demolition in the CP Rail Yards, these lumber columns were used as primary structural members in the framing of a two-story light well.
