Brookside Cemetery is home to the largest military interment sites in Canada. The Field of Honour is perfectly symmetrical in four directions, and dates back to the First World War.  A stable base structure was designed for the headstones to prevent them from shifting over time. They are designed with piles and prestressed concrete slabs.
